Just in! NECI wins 2nd place in ACF Knowledge Bowl in Las Vegas!

July 16, 2008 – We've just heard that our team of five NECI students has taken the second place award at the Culinary Knowledge Bowl competition held at the American Culinary Federation's 2008 national conference in Las Vegas this week.

The NECI team had won first-place honors at the ACF Knowledge Bowl northeast regional competition in Cincinnati this past April.

The team of young ‘culinarians’ won with their answers to challenging questions on everything culinary, including nutrition, sanitation, and baking, during the jeopardy-style competition.

This year’s NECI team includes Team Captain Rosalynn Kooker (Calif.), Nikki Trzeciak (Texas), Dawn Francis (La.), Bryan Andregg (Kansas), and Wee-Jin Chau (Singapore). Their coach is Chef David Coolidge.

The first day of class we were ‘on the line’, getting a big taste for what it was going to be like working in the real world. It was amazing.”
