Four complimentary graduation tickets will be held at the door.
No additional tickets will be sold.
All students will receive a ceremonial diploma cover that is to be returned at the close of the Ceremony and before the Reception..
Graduation participants are to report for check-in at National Life no later than 12:30 PM on June 9, 2018. Please be on time for check-in!
For FBBM graduates: You will receive caps and gowns, and should wear dark shoes and black trousers or skirt under the gown.
For Culinary, Baking and Pastry, and all Certificate graduates: You will receive a chef jacket and must wear black slacks, black shoes, and a plain white T-shirt to be worn under the chef jacket.
Graduate check-in time is 12:30 PM. Graduate line-up will begin at 1:15 PM sharp in the National Life Entry Lounge. Students must be present in brigade/caps and gowns at this time. The Ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM and the Graduation Reception will begin at 3:00 PM.
Official photographs will be available for purchase through a local photographer. Information on ordering will be made available on this page after graduation.
Remember, your application for graduation/RSVP to attend the Ceremony must be submitted by May 1, 2018.
When and where is the graduation ceremony?
The Graduation Ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the National Life Building (One National Life Drive, Montpelier, Vermont). There is ample parking available onsite. For handicap parking, please check in with an usher upon arrival.
How do I get to National Life?
From I-89: Take Exit 8 toward US-2/VT-12/Montpelier, merging onto Memorial Drive. Go .5 miles and take the first right onto National Life Drive. Proceed .4 miles and turn left into the National Life parking lot.
From downtown Montpelier: From Main Street, head southwest and cross the Winooski River. At the traffic light, take a right onto Memorial Drive. Proceed .7 miles and take a left at National Life Drive (3rd traffic light). Proceed .5 miles and turn left into the National Life parking lot.
Do guests need tickets to attend?
Yes. Four complimentary tickets will be provided for the guests of each graduate. Guests will check in at the front entrance and receive programs that will serve as their tickets. We are sorry, but due to occupancy limits, we are unable to accommodate requests for additional tickets.
At what time must graduates arrive?
Students will need to arrive early (12:30 PM main entrance to National Life) to get fitted for chef jacket (for all Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Arts graduates) or cap and gown (for all Food and Beverage Business Management graduates).
Will there be a reception?
Immediately following the ceremony there will be a gala reception for graduates, family and friends in the National Life Dining Area.
What if it rains?
The ceremony will be held inside the National Life Building.
Is there assigned seating?
Seating for guests is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Graduates will have assigned seating by program. Graduate line-up will begin at 1:15 PM sharp in the National Life Entry Lounge; Graduates must be present in brigade/caps and gowns at this time.

Will there be an official photographer and can I order photographs of graduation?
Yes, for viewing graduation pictures and easy online ordering of prints, visit the NECI Graduation website after the Ceremony.
Is your restaurant open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights?
Yes, NECI on Main is open for dinner from 4:30 to 8:30 PM on Friday and Graduation Day. Reservations are strongly encouraged. We will be closed for lunch on Graduation Day.
