From New York and Points South:

Take I-87 north to the Glens Falls exit and follow Route 149 to Route 4 to Route 22A North. Stay on Route 22A North to Vergennes, and then pick up Route 7 North to I-89. Take the exit for I-89 North. Take Exit 15 (Essex Junction - Winooski). Turn right onto Colchester Avenue. Proceed past St. Michael's College and Fanny Allen Hospital to Susie Wilson Road. Take a left onto Susie Wilson Road. Stay on this road until you reach Route 289 East. Take Exit 10 off Route 289 (Essex Way). Bear right onto Essex Way for 1/5 mile. The Inn at Essex is on your left.

From Burlington International Airport:

From the terminal, take a left onto Airport Drive to the first light at Williston Road. Turn right onto Williston Road. Proceed to I-89 North and take Exit 15 (Essex Junction-Winooski). Follow directions above.

From Boston or Montpelier:

Take I-89 North to Exit 11. Take an immediate right onto Route 117 and follow it for six miles to Route 289 West. Go approximately 2 miles on 289 West. Take Exit 10 (Essex Way) and turn left onto Essex Way. The Inn at Essex is ¼ mile on your left.
