How do I sign up for a course?

It is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
    1. Fill out an application.
    2. Submit your application and materials (if required).
    3. Submit payment either online or by phone. That’s it!

How do I sign up for the Continuing Education Certification in Management for the Food and Beverage Professional?

It's just as easy. On the application form, select your courses and check the CE Certification box at the bottom of the form.

What documents do I need to sign up for these courses or for the Continuing Education Certification in Management for the Food and Beverage Professional?

Students wishing to take courses for credit must submit an official transcript indicating graduation from high school or an accredited college degree program. We will provide you with a transcript request form that you can send to your school.

NECI Alumni can simply indicate their graduation date from NECI on the application, and the Registrar's Office will furnish the official transcript to accompany your application.

When is the last day to sign up for a course?

For the September 2010 Term, register by August 27, 2010.
For the November 2010 Term, register by October 17, 2010.
For the January 2011 Term, register by December 27, 2010.
For the March 2011 Term, register by February 21, 2011.

What are the start and end dates for the courses?

September 2010 Term: September 6, 2010 to October 17, 2010.
November 2010 Term: November 1, 2010 to December 12, 2010.
January 2011 Term: January 10, 2011 to February 20, 2011.
March 2011 Term: March 7, 2011 to April 17, 2011.

Can I count my courses toward a degree in the future?

In the event you decide to matriculate into one of the BA Offerings courses completed successfully through Continuing Education only will be evaluated through NECI’s Assessment of Prior Learning process and will be transferred into the degree program curriculum, up to the allowable maximum of three courses.

I have credits from another institution. Can I transfer them?

Transfer credits from other institutions cannot be applied toward the Continuing Education Certification in Management for the Food and Beverage Professional for this offer.

In the event that you do matriculate into one of our BA programs, a review of your official college transcripts would identify courses that could possibly transfer into the offering curriculum.

If I take one of these courses, am I enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts program in Hospitality and Restaurant Management or in Culinary Arts?

No, these courses are a stand alone regimen; however, while you are participating in a course you may be engaging many students that are matriculated into the BA program in Hospitality and Restaurant Management.

What are the admissions criteria?

This is a stand-alone regimen with open enrollment and does not have admissions criteria. If you choose to take the course or Certification for college credit, you will have to provide NECI with an official high school diploma prior to credit being awarded.

Can I sign up in just two courses? I am not interested in earning the Continuing Education Certification in Management for the Food and Beverage Professional.

Students may take one or several courses with no commitment. Remember that as a NECI alumni, you receive 30% OFF the tuition for EACH CLASS! For any Fall 2010 course for which you enroll, the discount will continue to apply for all courses you take in the Spring 2011 Term.

Can I earn college credit for these courses?

Students are able to earn college credit if they have submitted their official high school diploma or GED and then successfully complete the course work in accordance with NECI policy.
