David M. Cuntz, Sr.

"Chef Dave"
Durango, CO
AOS Culinary Arts 1995

David CuntzMy Associate's Degree culminated with two internships ~ at The Flagstaff House in Boulder, CO and at Equus Restaurant in Louisville, KY. Over the next 12 years, I rose through the ranks at Equus to become Executive Chef.
Upon spending a 10th wedding anniversary trip (in 2005) at the Strater Hotel in Durango, CO, I learned that the hotel was looking for a new Executive Chef... a dream-come-true opportunity at a Historic Hotels of America treasure! I've been a main-stage demonstrator at the 2007 Scottsdale Culinary Festival, a three-day exhibitor at the 2008 Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival, a wine pairing chef at the 2008 Telluride Festival of the Arts, a three-day exhibitor at the 2009 Aspen Classic, and named the Sterling Silver Premium Meats "Signature Chef #8" in a series, and now a NECI Alumni Admissions Ambassador.

Remembering NECI: NECI is a wonderful, hands-on institution with an outstanding student to teacher ratio emphasizing realistic kitchen experiences which foster those interested in becoming top notch chefs.

I'm happy to answer your questions.
