Carmen Allen

Hartford, VT
AOS Culinary Arts 1985

While raising two children, I worked around the country, helped to provide food quality and promoted healthy eating for a public school system in Vermont, spent some time as a Chef Instructor for NECI and was the Executive Chef of any Ivy League College.

Remembering NECI: NECI is (and was for me) the proper learning environment where you learn by doing the tasks instead of just reading about them. They drove the skills home and made me ready to tackle internships. I was never apprehensive of being the only woman in the kitchens that I worked. I enjoyed having available to me the opportunity to try everything related to the Culinary Arts. NECI definitely is the place to take advantage of this. Once you are part of the NECI family you will always have resources open to you.

I'm happy to answer your questions.
