Scholarships can help finance your education. A little research is all that is necessary to uncover the various organizations, both state and private, that make these kinds of funds available to qualified applicants.

NECI RESIDENT PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS
Academic Excellence Scholarship
The Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in high school. The Academic Excellence Scholarship can be used for any term during the year following high school completion.
Criteria:
- Acceptance to New England Culinary Institute.
- 3.5 or higher High School Grade Point Average.*
Amount: $6,000 total award ($2,000 per residency period of enrollment).
*All awards made prior to the completion of high school are subject to GPA verification upon receipt of a student’s final official transcript.
Alumni Referral Scholarship
If a New England Culinary Institute graduate has referred you to the school, please encourage her/him to visit the New England Culinary Institute Alumni website so that they can fill out the Next Generation Scholarship form on your behalf.

Competition Scholarships
NECI has partnered with the following Culinary Organizations to offer scholarships to state and national competition winners:
Important note: Competition awards cannot be combined with New England Culinary Institute merit scholarships or VT Culinary Preparatory Scholarships. Please contact the Financial Aid Office toll-free at 877.223.6324 for complete details. NECI will honor only one Competition Scholarship award.
Culinary Excellence Scholarship
The Culinary Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students who have participated in a high school level culinary program. The Culinary Excellence Scholarship can be used for any term during the year following high school completion.
Criteria:
- Acceptance to New England Culinary Institute.
- 3.0 or higher High School Grade Point Average.*
- Participation in a culinary curriculum during high school.
Amount: $6,000 total award ($2,000 per residency enrollment).
*All awards made prior to the completion of high school are subject to GPA verification upon receipt of a student’s final official transcript.
Early Commitment Scholarship
The Early Commitment Scholarship is automatically awarded to students who apply and are accepted to the program by the deadlines listed below. In addition, accepted students must make a deposit commitment to attend New England Culinary Institute and sign an Enrollment Agreement in order to be eligible. The Early Commitment Scholarship will not be awarded to applicants who apply for a term and then wish to defer their admission to a later term.

James Jeffords Life Long Learner Scholarship
The James Jeffords Life Long Learner Scholarship is available to students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree or higher and are either pursuing a career change or exploring a passion in the culinary industry.
Amount: $6,000 total award ($2,000 per residency enrollment).
*All awards made prior to the completion of high school are subject to GPA verification upon receipt of a student’s final official transcript.
Application Process: Please send a copy of your diploma or transcript and a letter describing why you have chosen to attend New England Culinary Institute via fax, college email, or mail indicating that you are applying for the Life Long Learner Scholarship.
Daniel Guthrie Outstanding Student Scholarship
Returning NECI students are invited to contact the Financial Aid office to be considered for the Daniel Guthrie award prior to their second or third year of study. All scholarship material must be received 30 days prior to the start of residency term to be considered for the award.
Criteria:
Amount:$2,000.00 one time award.
Phillip Cooke Industry Professional Scholarship
The Phillip Cooke Industry Professional Scholarship is awarded to students who have three or more years of professional experience in the culinary industry.
Criteria:
- 3+ years of full-time experience working in the hospitality industry.
- Resume including employer contact information.
- Letter of recommendation from an employer.
Amount: $6,000 total award ($2,000 per residency period of enrollment).
Application Process: Please send resume and letter of recommendation to New England Culinary Institute via mail, fax, or email indicating that you are applying for the Phillip Cooke Scholarship.
Vermont Culinary Preparatory Scholarship
The Vermont Culinary Preparatory Scholarship is available to Vermont students who have been recommended by their chef instructors or a guidance counselor to participate in an online course offered by New England Culinary Institute as well as a week-long experience on the NECI campus. Upon successful completion of high school, the online coursework, and the week-long campus experience, students will be awarded their scholarships.

Application Process: Students are selected to participate in this program by their Vermont Technical Program Chef Instructors or a guidance counselor.
The Vermont Culinary Preparatory Scholarship is not combinable with other New England Culinary Institute merit-based awards.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Academic Excellence, Culinary Excellence, Vermont Culinary Preparatory, and Life Long Leaner Scholarships cannot be combined with one another or any NECI funded competition awards.
NECI ONLINE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS
To be eligible for online scholarships students must be enrolled full time and remain enrolled without interruption. An interruption in enrollment will result in a loss of remaining scholarship funds.
Alumni New You Scholarship
The Alumni New You Scholarship is available to NECI alumni who have already completed an associate degree, or higher, and are enrolling in one of the Spring 2012 terms for the Online Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality and Restaurant Management Program.
Amount: $6,000 total program award (a credit of $3,000 per term year, dispersed as $500 per course over the duration of the program)
Important Note: The Alumni New You Scholarship is available only to those enrolling in the 2012 Spring 1 (January 9, 2012) or Spring 2 (March 5, 2012) terms. This scholarship cannot be combined with any other NECI scholarship.

Online Academic Excellence Scholarship
The Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement at the college level
- Acceptance to New England Culinary Institute
- An Associate degree earned or higher is required for the award.
- 3.5+ Grade Point Average
Amount: $1,000.00 total award ($500 awarded upon successful completion of each academic year.)
Online Alumni Referral Scholarship
If a New England Culinary Institute graduate has referred you to the school, please encourage them to visit the New England Culinary Institute Alumni website so that they can fill out the Next Generation Scholarship form on your behalf.
Amount: $1000.00 total award ($500 awarded upon successful completion of each academic year)
Online Early Commitment Scholarship
The Early Commitment Scholarship is automatically awarded to students who apply, are accepted, and submit their enrollment fee 30 days prior to the beginning of the enrollment date.
Amount: $500.00 (awarded after successful completion of first course)
Online Industry Professional Scholarship
The Industry Professional Scholarship is awarded to students who have three or more years of professional experience in the culinary industry.

- Letter of recommendation from an employer
Amount: $1,000.00 total award ($500 awarded upon successful completion of each academic year.)

Many local and state organizations offer scholarships. Check with your town hall, guidance office, and State Higher Education office for additional scholarship listings and information about relevant search engines.
