On-campus employment opportunities are available for F-1 students only; M-1 students are not eligible in the United States either on or off-campus.
F-1 students must maintain legal F-1 status, have a social security number, and work no more than a total of 20-hours per week. The 20-hour per week limit while school is in session applies to all types of on-campus employment.
International students are not eligible for financial aid from the Unites States Federal Government. This means that international students will need to pay for their education at NECI with their own funds, a sponsor’s funds, and/or some form of loan or financial assistance outside of the U.S. government. We can be flexible with your payment options and will work with you to set up a payment plan if needed; however, payment in full is required to maintain your enrollment in the program.
Below are two websites dedicated to helping international students obtain financial assistance:
International Assistance
Canadian Student Assistance
TERI loans are available to international students. In order to be eligible for this loan, you must have a co-signer who has good credit and is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident for at least the past two years. You can find more information about the loan at www.teri.org.
