The New York State Restaurant Association Education Foundation is delighted to announce its commitment to and continuous support of the educational programs of the New England Culinary Institute, specifically its new program for ProStart® students in New York State.
This visionary opportunity, designed by the Chef educators at NECI, is called the "Quick-Fire Scholarship" program. It was created specifically for those students enrolled in a New York State ProStart culinary program. What's involved?
To access a free online Food Theory Course, which will count toward your degree, here are the steps to take:
- Apply to NECI ($50 application fee is waived).
- Submit an Essay.
- Take an online learning survey.
- Submit a Chef or Guidance Counselor recommendation.
- Submit official high school transcripts.
- Enroll in a NECI Bachelor's or Associate of Occupational Studies degree program.
To access a $6,000 Scholarship, here are the next steps:
- Confirm enrollment and initial online set-up.
- Successfully complete the online Cooking Theory Course, which begins on January 11, 2010. (The course is free!)
- Attend the “Quick-Fire Weekend” on May 14, 2010 in Vermont.
- Redeem your $6,000 scholarship for enrollment in the July 2010 class.
- Or, redeem your $3,000 scholarship for enrollment in the October 2010 class.
