Military and Veteran Transitioners

Choosing a New Path To Excellence with New England Culinary Institute

Preparing for the Future

When it's time to move back into civilian life, you may find that New England Culinary Institute offers exactly the path of new opportunities that you are looking for.

Whether you are interested in using skills you have developed in the service, or in acquiring new ones, you should consider the options available to you at NECI.

We take pride in providing a supportive environment for Veterans who are seeking to further their education and who are interested in preparing themselves for careers in the dynamic and expanding world of culinary arts.

NECI Named 2011 Military Friendly School

New England Culinary Institute has again been selected by G.I. Jobs magazine as a Military Friendly School for 2011.  This honor places NECI in the top 15% of all schools nationwide.

Continuing a Tradition

Since NECI's founding in 1980, our celebrated culinary school has been dedicated to providing the highest quality education. Our students include men and women of various backgrounds, ages and aspirations. What they have in common is a passion for food, a willingness to work hard and a desire to excel.

Since our formative years, we have been honored to have — among our students, alumni, faculty and administrative staff — a number of men and women who have served our country in the United States military services.

As a Veteran, you will be in good company at NECI.

You will also be part of an exceptional institution of higher learning. The educational model we offer at NECI is unique. It emphasizes learning by doing, real life experiences, paid internships, small classes that promote active learning and a focus on promoting excellence in professional conduct and ethics.

Transitions

At NECI, we understand that transitioning from military to civilian life can be challenging.

Our goal throughout your experience at NECI is to make that transition as smooth as possible. We provide hands-on assistance, beginning from the time you consider submitting an application, and continuing through every phase of your NECI experience.

We offer our students individual help in all areas of their education, including financial aid, internship selection, career counseling and a full range of academic services.

NECI creates a personal and close-knit environment, in which you can develop lasting relationships with your chef/instructors, as well as your advisors and fellow students.

We hope you will consider joining the our ranks and becoming a part of the NECI family.

Financial Aid

The Admissions and Financial Aid offices at NECI are designed to serve as your liaison between you and the Veterans Administration.

Benefits may include payment for courses, books, tutoring and housing, through the Post 9/11 GI Bill, the Yellow Ribbon program and all other military benefits. Our designated Veterans Admissions Associate will be available to answer any of your questions and assist you in applying for financial aid and Veterans benefits.

The NECI Programs

NECI's educational model is unique. Whether you choose to enroll in our Bachelor of Arts programs — either on-line or on-campus — our Associate of Occupational Studies programs or our Certificate programs, you will be participating in distinguished and highly effective learning experience
