International Students
New England Culinary Institute has been the educational choice for students from more than 30 countries from around the world. Our Office of International Admissions is here to help make the application process as simple as possible for you. Below is some information about the initial steps necessary to secure your place at NECI. To apply as an International Student you will need:
- A completed application.
- A high school diploma or GED. Minimum required GPA is 2.0.
- Official transcripts are required from your High School and any college or vocational school you have attended.
- Official GED Transcript.

- Official English translation/educational evaluations for all international transcripts and evaluations must be from an educational service approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. For a list of all of NACES® members, visit naces.org/members.htm.
- An official copy of your TOEFL or IELTS scores if you did not attend an English-speaking school. Requirements for both TOEFL and IELTS are below. SAT scores may not be submitted in lieu of TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Our areas of admissions application review include but are not limited to:
- Industry understanding and experience (e.g., work experience, vocational classes). Please include a resume where possible.
- Academics (e.g., GPA, and grade report details).
- Essay, including grammar, spelling, content, length, and creativity.
- Interest, motivation, and passion for the industry.
- Extracurricular activities (e.g., team sports, clubs, organizations, community and volunteer activities).
- Vocational activities (e.g., ProStart, Skills USA, DECA competitions).
- Online Learning Survey.
- English proficiency.
