International Students

New England Culinary Institute has been the educational choice for students from more than 30 countries from around the world. Our Admissions Team is here to help make the application process as simple as possible for you. Below is some information about the initial steps necessary to secure your place at NECI.

To apply as an International Student you will need:

A $25.00 processing fee in U.S. funds when you submit your application

An official copy of your high school or college transcripts certified by the World Education Service (www.wes.org)

An essay relevant to your program of study

An official copy of your TOEFL scores if you did not attend an English speaking school

Once you are accepted to NECI, you will need to show sufficient financial resources to support your entire stay in the country. This is necessary for obtaining the 1-20 paperwork for a VISA. To meet this requirement, you will need to submit a bank statement showing adequate funds available to cover the cost of the entire program plus living expenses. If you are being sponsored, your sponsor will need to submit the appropriate financial information along with an Affidavit of Support I-134 form.

International Students are eligible for on-campus employment. Applicants from Asian countries are encouraged to apply for a Freeman Scholarship which provides two $20,000 scholarships to first year students in our Bachelors or Associates programs and may be renewed for the second year. There are a lot of different culinary schools out there. I know. I visited most of them. None of the others offer the kind of personal attention that NECI does.”
